Sasha B. Dismuke, Esq.
Sasha B. Dismuke, Esq., Founder and CEO of Mindful Living, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As the youngest child and only daughter of Marshall and Deborah Dismuke, Sr., she grew up in a home shaped by curiosity, discipline, creativity, and service. Her parents played a profound role in cultivating the values that define her work today.
Her father, a real estate broker and lifelong community advocate, instilled in her a love for cooking, critical thinking, and justice. His background as an active community member and civic engagement sparked Sasha’s early interest in investigation, research, and advocacy. His New Orleans roots, and the culinary legacy passed down from his own father, a professional chef, deepened Sasha’s appreciation for food as both culture and nourishment.
Her mother, an English and literature instructor with more than thirty years in education, shaped Sasha’s voice as a writer and thinker. As Sasha’s teacher for three years, including fifth‑grade social studies, seventh‑grade English, and eighth‑grade English, Mrs. Dismuke nurtured her daughter’s analytical mind, love for reading, and commitment to excellence. She remains Sasha’s greatest inspiration and the foundation of her core values.
From an early age, Sasha demonstrated an exceptional appetite for learning. She was reading at a college level by age four and constantly questioned the world around her. Although she attended inner‑city schools that did not always recognize her gifts, her love for reading allowed her to self‑educate, explore ideas deeply, and carve her own academic path.
In eighth grade, an impromptu mock trial revealed her natural talent for law. Her analytical strengths, love for advocacy, and desire to serve others led her toward a legal career, and later, toward the wellness work that would become her true calling.
Today, Sasha brings together her background in research, investigation, writing, and advocacy to lead Mindful Living with clarity, compassion, and purpose. Her journey reflects a lifelong commitment to understanding people, solving problems, and empowering others to live healthier, more intentional lives.
Curriculum Vitae
Sasha B. Dismuke, Esq. is a California‑licensed attorney, certified health coach, and real estate agent whose career reflects a rare blend of legal expertise, investigative depth, and wellness education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California Lutheran University and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
Sasha began her legal career as an employment law investigator with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (CEOP Division), where she conducted workplace investigations and developed a strong foundation in policy analysis and fact‑finding. She later served as a Law Clerk II with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, contributing to the Major Frauds, International Narcotics/Money Laundering/Racketeering, and Privileged Document Review teams.
Her investigative work continued in the Public Integrity Unit for the City and County of San Francisco, followed by roles in private‑sector investigations, including workers’ compensation matters with Apex Investigations. Sasha then transitioned into litigation, practicing consumer protection law as an Associate Attorney in Century City before joining Shegerian & Associates, where she represented plaintiffs in employment and constitutional law matters, including Title VII, EEOC, and FEHA claims.
In parallel with her legal career, Sasha expanded her expertise into the wellness field. After founding Mindful Living, she completed her certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She has since supported clients navigating a wide range of wellness concerns, including lifestyle redesign, nutritional improvement, and holistic habit building.
Sasha’s multidisciplinary background which crosses law, investigations, advocacy, and wellness shapes the comprehensive, research‑driven approach that defines Mindful Living today.
WHY HEALTH AND WELLNESS?
Sasha’s commitment to health and wellness is rooted in lived experience. For many years, she navigated a range of persistent symptoms and recurring health challenges that left her searching for answers. Like many, she spent countless hours in emergency rooms, urgent care clinics, and specialist offices, hoping for relief. Although she was often prescribed medications intended to manage symptoms, she never felt she reached true healing or long‑term stability.
Everything shifted when a close family member received a chronic illness diagnosis. Supporting them required Sasha to dive deeply into research, lifestyle patterns, environmental factors, and the role daily habits play in long‑term well‑being. What began as an effort to help someone she loved ultimately illuminated a path forward for her own health as well.
Sasha’s faith has always been the foundation of her values, ethics, and resilience. She believes deeply in divine purpose and in the truth that “all things work together…” (Romans 8:28). Through her own challenges, she found clarity in the idea that her experiences were not wasted but was divine preparation. She felt called to use the divine comfort she received, to comfort those experiencing the same afflictions (2 Corinthians 1:4). This calling became the heart of Mindful Living.
Today, Sasha continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing research, professional mentorships, advanced coursework, medical and academic literature, and continued study in holistic wellness. Her background in investigation, law, and advocacy naturally evolved into a passion for helping individuals understand their bodies, their environments, and their daily habits with greater clarity.
